    About Yui Neats

Yui Neats is a Tokyo-based artist who weaves music, poetry, and space into immersive experiences that deeply touch the emotions. Formerly known as Neat’s, she has always valued both the aesthetics of sound and the storytelling power of visuals. Her work transcends traditional songwriting, evolving into live performances as spatial art.

Since 2024, she has been creating her unique format of Wireless Headphone Live. In these performances, the audience freely moves through galleries or warehouse-like spaces, wrapped in sound through headphones, while light and music intersect to form a dreamlike installation-like experience.

At the core of her expression is a self-created vocal language called Neatsphonic—a stream of improvisational sounds shaped by emotion and impulse. These “words beyond words” resonate directly within the listener, transcending language itself. The name Neatsphonic carries multiple layers: her own name (Niitsu/Neats), the pursuit of “unfamiliar yet beautiful sound,” and inspiration from NASA’s Near-Earth Asteroid Tracking project (NEAT).

In 2025, as she turns 40, Yui Neats will hold her first solo international performance in Denmark. By blending the quiet sensibilities of Japan with the minimalism of Scandinavia, she aims to create a musical experience where “sound and emotion” connect beyond words.

Debuting in 2003 as part of the female duo RYTHEM, Yui wrote and performed numerous theme songs for anime and TV shows. Today, she continues as an independent artist, focusing on highly conceptual and immersive forms of expression.
