1. Assistens Cemetery: A peaceful retreat in the history
Oh yes, this one is probably a classic, but easily forgotten when you’re out and about in the sun all day long. Assistens offers a much needed break in a shade with it’s beautiful leafed paths and comfy benches. Have a stroll through or make it a game and learn more about the history of the place through a puzzle walk with friends.
2. Freetown Christiania: Embrace the Alternative…Beach?
Christiania is a must-see when you come to Copenhagen, but did you know that it also has a great waterfrotn for you to sit down and relax from all the city buzz? Sit down for a picnic or have a stroll by the water and look at the local DIY-architecture. You might sometimes even find a local selling their things in a mini flea-market outside their door. There’s a concert every Sunday on a Nemoland stage too, if you just want to wind down to a good band.
3. Kayaking and Paddleboarding: Navigate the Caas in Style
June is one on the best months to enjoy Copenhagen on the water. And there are planty of places to rent a aboard or a kayak. But if you’d like to paddle with purpose, get yourself on a Green Kayak. You paddle around the harbour picking up trash and in return you get the kayak rental for free.
4. Cisternene: Art Below the Surface
Baked in a sun in Frederiksberg? Cool off in this underground art venue located in Copenhagen’s former water reservoirs. Probably a classic, but definitely one of our favourites. And if you’re lookign for a bit of an extra, don’t miss out Slow looking, Gong bath session or a film screening session at Cisternene.
