Description

English below.

Originalt designet af Jeremy Walton, "A Gift of a Goat" fra SE-udstillingen i 2011 på Designmuseum Danmark.

English starts

Make your own Warp&Weft stool.

The “Warp” stool frame is a basic frame that allows individuals to weave “Weft” with their own expression and personal whim. Making each “Warp&Weft” stool a unique creation.

Original design by Jeremy Walton, ‘A Gift of a Goat’ for the SE exhibition 2011 at Designmuseum
Denmark.

Sweatshop description (initial draft):
In the Peoples Factory of South harbour Recycling Center we work together to:
● Painstakingly salvage wood (use a crowbar and wood plane)
● Lovingly cut and drill components (use a japanese handsaw and Bosch power drill)
● Hand assemble your own “Warp” stool frame (wish you were ambidextrous)
● Select Textiles for weaving “Weft” into the stool (use all your senses)
● Explore weaving techniques (make it up as you go along)

Within the workshop we aim for participants to assemble a “Warp” frame ready to take home. Explore textile weaving techniques for the “Weft” of the stool. Textile weaving is most likely completed at home, and participants may wish to wash the fabrics before adding to the stool, or they may wish to work with their own waste textiles, adding their own personal history to the “Weft”.

Participants will need:
● Work clothes, personal dust mask, work gloves.
● Be able to transport the “Warp” frame home.

We have set 7 tickets available. But it is acceptable to share one ticket per two participants.
