Description

Kl. 19.30: Carolyn Goodwin’s ‘Luasc’:

Founded in 2015, Luasc is a septet led by Irish saxophonist and composer Carolyn Goodwin, presenting original compositions and folk melodies in a chamber jazz setting.

The name Luasc comes from the Irish language and translates literally as ‘swing’.

The music draws on traditional material from both Ireland and Mali and the collective improvisations that occur when these elements are combined.

The unique sound of the group comes from the line-up of four horn players combined with a rhythm section that includes the balafon, a traditional xylophone from Mali.

Luasc are :

Carolyn Goodwin (IRL) soprano/alto saxophones, voice.

Clara Aalholm (DK) balafon

Ilkka Arola (FIN) trumpet/flugelhorn,

Johannes Gammelgard Lauritsen (DK) tenor saxophone,

Nis Hellerøe Myrtue (DK) baritone saxophone

Adrian Christensen (Denmark) acoustic bass

Tobias Andreassen (DK) drums

And featuring special guest: Jenni Hanikka (FIN), flutes

Kl. 21.00: Orgelduo Presents:
