Tunge elektro-cumbia grooves, saz riffs og surf guitar smeltes sammen i en multikulturel smeltedigel af sydamerikanske rytmer, anatolsk psykedelisk folk og 60’ernes syrerock. Bandet præsenterer en unik genrehybrid og et lydunivers der spænder bro mellem fugtige tropiske urskove og støvede ørkener i en kalejdoskopisk blanding af musik fra alle verdenshjørner.
Ipek Yolu, der er det tyrkiske navn for Silkevejen der tidligere forbandt kulturer verden over, består bl.a. af musikere fra Hudna, Junglelyd og AddisAbabaBand, og spiller derfor stærkt dansabel musik, præget af fri leg, nysgerrighed og improvisation. Noget bl.a. publikum på sommerens Roskilde Festival fik at mærke, da bandet spillede en fremragende og anmelderrost koncert.
I front for bandet står den prisvindende multiinstrumentalist og baglama-spiller Orhan Özgür Turan som i 2018 modtog prisen Global Roots Artist of the year ved Danish Music Awards Folk.

DJ Sabs - Antropolog som arbejder med kulturformidling gennem musik, en sand ildsjæl hvis valg af musik altid virker overraskende og velvalgt. En smittende og eventyrlystig cocktail, der gør at man som publikum får lyst til at gå mere på opdagelse - ikke blot i musikken, men også i menneskerne og kulturen omkring én selv.
