Description

THE MASTERCLASS

You know the song, you learned the lyrics and practiced the melody. So now what?

As a jazz vocalist you must be able to do more than simply ‘sing the song’ as it’s written.

But how do you lift the song and your performance to something unique and authentic? Your own personal interpretation. Your final performance of this tune - ready for an audience.

To deliver an authentic and personal performance, you have to master these three important skills:

- Vocal technique

- Jazz paraphrasing

- Performance skills

Understanding and mastering the three skills gives you the ability to be free in your interpretation. It gives you endless ideas and variations of sound, musical ideas and reflections on the lyrics. A truly great performance from you relies on combining your knowledge of jazz skills with your vocal technique and personal sound.

During this masterclass you will:

  • Find out how you improve your sound with just a few adjustments
  • Discover the road to being original and connect with the song
  • Get the simple jazz tricks that will improve your phrasing
  • Get a feeling for jazz timing and learn how to connect with rhythm
  • Learn how your vocal technique is closely connected to english pronunciation
  • See how you can use the sound of the words for an original and personal interpretation
  • Find out how to get a sense of the song style - and how to use it in your performance
  • After the masterclass you will have the opportunity to perform with a professional jazz duo at the students concert.

Join this VOCAL JAZZ MASTERCLASS and get the three sound proof ways to improve your jazz singing performance!
