Første workshop: Hvordan kan vi oversætte byens rum til drager?(English below)Faculty of Senses inviterer dig til en workshop hvor vi undersøger Blågårds Plads ved at bygge og flyve drage med drager. Workshoppen afholdes af kunstnerne Toshie Takeuchi og Victor Valqui Vidal.‘Play it on the Sky – Borderless praxis with kites’ er en ny eksperimental platform til at udforske det at bygge og flyve med drager; dens traditionelle omend generiske multikulturelle aspekter, dens fysiske og metaforiske potentiale og dens rolle som kunstform, musik eller manifestation. Med projektet ønsker vi at danne et åbent fællesskab. Vi er nysgerrige på om vores drageopsætning kan blive en intersektionel og grænseløs praksis. Vi er også nysgerrige om vi kan tegne på himlen med drager ligesom Kandisky lavede sine kompositioner på lærredet. Play it on the Sky ønsker at blive ved med at skabe, samles om, udtrykke med drager og dragens omkringliggende kultur i lang tid fremad.I denne første workshop bruger vi materialer som bruges i traditionelle asiatiske dragetyper– tynde bambuspinde og washi-papir – som reference til og kritisk refleksion over traditionen. På workshoppens sidste dag, prøver vi at flyve med dragerne oppe på toppen af Korsgadehallen – den urbane bakke som er omgivet at byen huse.Dato 17. - 19. september 2021

‘Play it on the Sky – Borderless praxis with kites’
First Workshop: How can we transform an urban space into kites? Faculty of Senses is please to invite you for an inquiring workshop to transform the space of Blågårds Plads at Nørrebro by building and flying kites. The workshop is facilitated by artist Toshie and Victor Valqui Vidal. ‘Play it on the Sky – Borderless praxis with kites’ is a new experimental platform to explore the act of kite building and flying; its traditional yet generic multicultural aspect, its physical and metaphorical potential and it as a form of art, music and/or manifestation. The project aims to form an open community. We are curious, if we can play with kites as intersectional and borderless praxis. We are also curious if we can draw on the skywith kites like Kandinsky creates his compositions on his canvases. Play it on the Sky wishes to continue creating, gathering and happening with kites and/or culture around the kite over a long term. During the first workshop, we will use the material which are used to build traditional form of kites in Japan - thin strips of bamboo and washi paper - these as reference and critical reflective point of the tradition. On the last day of the workshop, we try to fly the kites on top of Korsgadehallen – the urban hill which is surrounded by apartment buildings –.Date: 17th - 19th Sep 2021
