Description

[ENGLISH BELOW]

Bjarke Mogensen, akkordeon

Summer Concerts: Songs in Light and Darkness

20 September at 12.00 noon

The Pellegrini/Mogensen Duo has performed virtually every genre of music - from early Renaissance music and opera classics to contemporary works. The accordion possesses the capacity to ‘sing’ notes like a full opera chorus, backing the dark mezzo voice and creating a remarkable soundscape that challenges our preconception of familiar arias.
The concert features the duo’s totally unique interpretation of Schubert’s song cycle Winterreise and works by a variety of Russian composers from Bjarke Mogensen’s album, Winter Sketches.

Andrea Pellegrini, mezzo-soprano
Bjarke Mogensen, accordion
