The Pogo Problem er en islandsk/dansk trio under ledelse af den islandske guitarist/komponist, Steinar Guðjónsson. Musikken er en organisk fusion af instrumental pop, nordisk jazz og progressiv rock.
Trioens navn henviser noget så teknisk/eksotisk til problemet forbundet med selvudløste vibrationer i raketmotorers flydende drivmiddel forårsaget af dets forbrændingsinstabilitet. I sommeren 2017 udgav trioen deres selvbetitlede og anmelderroste debutalbum, hvorfra numret ‘Difference of Opinion’ skaffede dem en nominering til årets jazzkomposition ved Icelandic Music Award. I tillæg er numrene ‘Legg’ og ‘Fair Enough’ blevet spillet flittigt på P8 Jazz.
Begge fandt de vej ind på ugens top 10 over mest spillede numre. Trioen er pt. i gang med at indspille deres andet album.

Alex Jønsson har med sin trio foreløbig udgivet fire stærke album. Det seneste, ‘Heathland’, har han fundet inspiration til i sin egen baghave: heden. I generationer er hans familie vokset op på den jyske højderyg med den nøjsomme natur som kulisse. Kompositionerne er åbne, lyriske og melankolske. Jønssons spil er sfærisk og minimalistisk og sammen med trioen skabes et rigt og varieret musikalsk udtryk med iørefaldende melodier, ligefremme rytmer og frie passager.
Til forskel fra tidligere udgivelser har trioen på Heathland sat strøm til bassen. Det kan især høres på ’…and Darkness Crept In’. Her hiver de i strengene, slider i pedalerne og slår i skindet; som en flok hedebønder, der afbrænder og udpiner et stykke jord. Det er lyden af unikt samspil og støvet, dansk prærielandskab.
