Cheerful Grooves er et musikalsk samarbejde der portrætterer et møde med musikere fra Brasilien, Danmark, Mozambique og Norge. Steinar Aadnekvam oprindeligt fra Bergen, Norge har etableret sig som en af ​​de store skandinaviske jazzguitarister fra den nye generation. I mere end et årti har han beskæftiget sig med udbredt internationale ture og samarbejder mellem baser i Stockholm og Recife i Brasilien.

Cheerful Grooves is a music collaboration that portraits a meeting of musicians from Brasil, Denmark, Mozambique and Norway, they bring their own compositions to the circle, where all get to express and interpret in their original flavour, background and influences finding their place in the music.

Steinar Aadnekvam originally from Bergen, Norway has been establishing himself as one of the great Scandinavian jazz guitarists of the new generation. For more than a decade he has engaged in widespread international tours and collaborations between bases in Stockholm - Sweden and Recife – Brasil.

Denise Fontoura is Brazilian singer with a great voice and feeling that is hard to resist.

Deodato Siquir Copenhagen based drummer and singer from Mozambique delivers sophisticated music that allies traditional African rhythms mixed with cool Scandinavian Jazz , played expertly resulting in a unique and vibrant sound topped up by Siquir ‘s soft poetic singing in his mother tongue Shaangan -Tsonga, Portuguese and English lyrics focusing universal themes. He quickly became one of the jazz and world music scene’s most in-demand sidemen after relocating to Scandinavia / Sweden & Denmark in 2001. As a bandleader he released in 2007 Balanço and in 2011 Mutema Featuring Siquir’s percussive, vocal and compositional talents, made a splash in the international world music/jazz arena The records climbed charts to take a place in World Music Europe’s Top Ten.
