ALICE arbejder for at udvikle musikken.

In English:
The adventurous Danish cellist and composer Cæcilie Trier and the Gambian kora master Dawda Jobarteh join forces in an exciting collaboration that will present brand new music for this ALICE Works concert at Musikhuset København.

Both musicians are known to move with grace across musical genres, merging musical experiments and beautiful melodies. They performed together at Roskilde Festival in 2019 where their show received critical praise. At Musikhuset København they continue their collaboration, working with new compositions created specifically for the occasion. There they will explore sounds and textures in the interplay of the kora and the cello, creating music that blends West African traditions, Nordic folk music and experimental chamber pop.

ALICE Works was born from an Open Call initiative launched by ALICE during the COVID-19 lockdown in early 2021. An attempt at developing new music, collaborations and experimental formats in a time of crisis. The concert series will present both Danish and international artists chosen via the Open Call process and will take place during 2021 and 2022.
