Description

Oplev Bachs voluminøse og elskede påskeværk, Matthæuspassionen ugen før påske. I værket følger vi Jesu lidelse og død, som den er beskrevet ved evangelisten Matthæus. Bach har sat historien i musik, der med evangelisten som fortæller bindes sammen af dramatiske korsatser, melodiske arier og meditative koraler. 

Dirigent Nenia Zenana sætter under overskriften ”tilgivelse” Peter i centrum. Peter er den af Jesus’ disciple, som først lover sin herre evigt troskab, men da Jesus er blevet arresteret og lagt for had, fornægter Peter at have haft noget med ham at gøre. At Peter fejler er åbenlyst, men med fejlen viser han også sin menneskelighed. Og som menneske bliver han tilgivet. Tilgivelsens udfordring og pris vil forme Zenanas udlægning af musikken.
