I Hilma af Klints testamente befalede hun, at hendes abstrakte malerier først måtte udstilles mindst 20 år efter hendes død. Måske fordi hun også godt selv vidste, hvor langt forud for sin tid, hun var? Men også fordi hun var vant til at blive misforstået. I dag ved vi, at svenske Hilma af Klint var en af historiens vigtigste banebrydere for abstrakt og endda proto-psykedelisk kunst. Hun malede sit første abstrakte maleri i 1906, fire år før Kandinsky. Abstraktionen var mere end blot rene former og farver for hende, men repræsenterede komplekse filosofiske systemer. Den fulde historie om en kvindelig pioner.
