Half way through Copenhagen Jazz Festival we have the pleasure of introducing, all the way from France - Cyril Bernhard!
Cyril Bernhard is a French guitarist based in Toulouse, he is active in the jazz and rock scene in France. His guitar playing juggles between rock guitar playing, sweep technique, lyrical melodies mixed the jazz language. With influences ranging from rock to contemporary jazz, Cyril can summon the full force of the guitar sound spectrum. His range on the instrument proposes a balance between classic guitar references and his own creations. The trio will be playing original compositions and arrangements.
Deodato was born in a musical family in 1975. Growing up in Maputo, he taught himself to play on a homemade drum set comprised of garbage bins and other improvised components,, joining the first band Escolinha Vamos Brincar in 1988. By the age of 15 he was performing with professional orchestras. From 1990 to 2000 in Mozambique Siquir worked as a sideman for Jasde, Eloy Vasco, Mateus Vilanculos, Hot Lads, Jaguar Mondlane, Zamoc Stars, Baba Harris, Tchika Fernando, Paulo Wilson, Stewart Sukuma, Leman Pinto and Dua Maciel . Deodato assembled groups like Mozafro that performed original material which in 1999 contributed to the project Music from Mozambique, released by the Swedish label Caprice Records.
Kasper Lang Eriksen was born in Frederikshavn in 1987. He is an ambitious electric bass player and composer, now based in Copenhagen after four years at the prestigious Prince Claus Conservatory in Groningen, Holland. Kasper is currently one of the leading jazz talents on the electric bass in Denmark, mixing both post-bop and contemporary jazz with his own melodic approach. The music is original, well arranged, and it is characterized by Kasper's scenes of sophisticated harmonies and strong singable melodies. In the company of Kasper Lang's bass playing, you will experience beautiful melodies, intensity, high energy, and fluent dynamics.
The doors will open at 6:00 pm, and the trio will be playing from around 8:00 pm.
Please notice, that due to this event, Maobao will not be serving food this evening.
