BLUESNIGHT OG JYSK BLUES NETVÆRK ARRANGERER DANISH BLUES CHALLENGE
Det er en stor ting for Randers, at Bluesnight Randers nu skal være vært for det legendariske og prestigefyldte DANISH BLUES CHALLENGE, som nok bedst kan oversættes som det danske mesterskab i aktuel bluesmusik. Det foregår på Underværket fredag den 17. august kl. 19.00, og det er i Randers Ugen.
Vinderne - for det er en konkurrence - kvalificerer sig til EUROPEAN BLUES CHALLENGE på Azorerne (Portugal) i april 2019, hvor der findes en europæisk repræsentant til BLUES FOUNDATIONs internationale finale i USA senere i 2019.
De deltagende bands er:
EVIL SONS OF THE BLUES, der består af Poul Ewald (mundharpe, percussion & vokal), Søren Bøje (bluesguitar & vokal), Ulrik Fromholt (vokal & guitar), Bo Gryholt (bas, percussion & kor) samt Rene Dam (trommer). Bandet har mange års erfaring og har on-and-off eksisteret i 30 år.
TRAINMAN BLUES er en forholdsvist nyt bluesband, men de medlemmer har hver især en længere karriere i rygsækken og er kendt fra andre sammenhænge. Bandet består af Richard Farrell (voc./guitar), Ronni Boysen (guitar), Laust Nielsen (bas), og Thomas Crawfurd (trommer).
MOJO HANDS har været på bluesrock-scenen siden 1995 og møder i stærkeste opstilling, hvilket vil sige: Zenia Levring Madsen (vokal), Bo Møller (guitar), Erik Lodberg (trommer), Lars Doc Thomsen (bas) og Rasmus Grønborg (orgel).
Danish Blues Challenge afgørende ved en votering i en uafhængig dommerkomite.
Danish Blues Challenge er samtidig der, hvor Møblomania Blues Award uddeles. SignRemote fra Randers er arrangementets hovedsponsor, og desuden bakkes arrangementet op af Nybolig, Sparekassen Kronjylland, SystemCenter Randers, Prounit Randers samt Randers Kommune og Randers Ugen.
Billetprisen er kr. 100 i forsalg. Ved døren sælges eventuelle resterende billetter for kr. 130
