Emancipator har bjergtaget publikummer verden over med sin æteriske lyd og helstøbte liveshows. I det nye år kan det danske publikum få den oplevelse, når Emancipator lægger vejen forbi Rust den 19.februar.
Hvis du har søgt efter fordybende kuldegys-fremkaldende tracks, har du måske stødt på den amerikanske elektroniske producer Emancipator, der igennem de seneste par år har opnået succes med sit downtempo electronica og triphop, som han har spillet for fulde huse i hjemlandet.
Emancipator, hvis borgerlige navn lyder Doug Appling, er kendt for sine æteriske melodier, helstøbte samples og forførende trommer. Live har Portland-kunstneren ofte følge af violinisten Ilya Golberg, og med tiden har Emancipator udviklet sin liveperformance til en altomfattende musikalsk oplevelse.
Diskografien viser fire roste studiealbum, hvoraf det seneste, som er det første i tre år, Seven Seas, udkom i år via Emancipators eget label Loci Records.
