Gåte er en institution på den norske scene. I 2017 vendte de tilbage efter en 12 år lang pause med ny EP, to nye medlemmer og lyrisk bidrag fra kongen af Norsk folkemusik- Knut Buen.
I mødet mellem progressiv rock og traditionel norsk folkemusik har Gåte gravet sig en niche. Den niche har vist sig at tale til rigtig mange mennesker. De blev dannet i 1999 af søskende parret Sveinung og Gunnhild Sundli og i de følgende år opnåede de blandt andet at vinde en norsk Grammy for bedste rocknavn i 2002 , spille talrige succesfulde tours og sælge ca. 100.000 plader oveni.
Efter 12 års pause vendte de tilbage i 2017 med EPén "Attersyn" og et år efter var albummet "Svevn" også en realitet. På albummet samarbejdede Gåte tæt sammen med Knut Buen, der er én af Norges mest respekterede folkemusikere og instrumentalister på Hardanger violinen. Det er et revitaliseret band, sprængfuldt af spilleglæde og deres helt egen lyd, som rammer Pumpehuset d. 12 oktober.
