Under Golden Days Festivalen får kunst- og historieinteresserede en enestående mulighed for at besøge den franske ambassade på Kongens Nytorv, som normalt ikke er åben for offentligheden.
Ulla Kjær, kunsthistoriker, museumsinspektør og forfatter, vil fortælle om " Nicolas-Henri Jardin: Den danske klassicismes franske fader "
Den franske arkitekt Nicolas-Henri Jardin er en af de mest betydningsfulde arkitekter i dansk arkitekturhistorie. I 1754 blev Jardin kaldt til Danmark for at virke som professor i arkitektur ved landets nyinddstiftede maler-, billedhugger- og bygningsakademi og for at fuldende Marmorkirken i Københavns nye prestigekvarter, Frederiksstaden. Blandt Jardins værker er facaden på det Thottske Palæ (Frankrigs Ambassade i Danmark), slottene Marienlyst og Bernstorff, Hofteateret på Christiansborg, Sølvgades Kaserne og Fredensborg Slotspark.
