Samantha-Antoinette Smith har gennem sin 30 år lange karriere som sanger været på turné med blandt andre Depeche Mode, Erasure, Jamiroquai, Richard Ashcroft, Beverley Knight, MIKA, Plan B og Sam Moore.
Samantha har været en del af The London Community Gospel Choir i 21 år og har her sunget sammen med kunstnere som Mariah Carey, Lionel Richie, Blur, Joe Cocker, James Brown, Mel B, Manu Dibango, George Michael, Freddie Mercury, Paul McCartney, Michael Bolton, Sir Andew Lloyd Webber, Elton John & Tim Rice, Westlife, Tina Turner, Puff Daddy, Faith Evans and Gloria Gaynor og mange andre.
Samantha har medvirket i en række musicals og operaer, og hun kom for første gang til København som gæstesanger i Operaen i forbindelse med Det Kongelige Teaters opsætning af ”Porgy and Bess” i 2014. Siden da har hun besøgt København flere gange i forbindelse med Copenhagen Jazz Festival.
Denne workshop/master class henvender sig både til professionelle sangere og ikke-professionelle og giver en grundlæggende introduktion til gospel som genre. Deltagerne vil høre om gospelens oprindelse og vil lære en række populære sange/arrangementer som et ensemble. Det hele foregår i en afslappet, sjov og opløftet stemning, og vi garanterer, at I vil gå derfra fulde af energi!
Workshoppen/master class’en foregår på engelsk.

Gospel singing workshop/master class led by international artist Samantha-Antoinette Smith
This is a rare opportunity to work with one of the big international names in gospel music in Copenhagen. During her 30-year-long career British singer Samantha-Antoinette Smith has toured internationally with such names as Depeche Mode, Erasure, Jamiroquai, Richard Ashcroft, Beverley Knight, MIKA, Plan B and Sam Moore.
Samantha has been part of The London Community Gospel Choir for 21 years, working with (among many others) Mariah Carey, Lionel Richie, Blur, Joe Cocker, James Brown, Mel B, Manu Dibango, George Michael, Freddie Mercury, Paul McCartney, Michael Bolton, Sir Andew Lloyd Webber, Elton John & Tim Rice, Westlife, Tina Turner, Puff Daddy, Faith Evans and Gloria Gaynor.
Samantha has been in a number of musical theatre productions and first came to Copenhagen as part of the Danish National Opera’s production of Porgy and Bess in 2014. Since then, she has returned to sing at the Copenhagen Jazz Festival for several years.
The workshop/master class is aimed both at professional singers and non-professionals and provides a basic introduction to gospel as a genre. The participants will gain an insight into the origins of gospel and learn a number of popular songs/arrangements as an ensemble, in a relaxed, fun and invigorating atmosphere. You will leave feeling UPLIFTED!
The workshop/master class will be held in English.
