Grand Opening in Bremen Teater
How do we relate to ourselves and the people around us while we listen? And if your bedside lamp had ears, what would it know about you? It’s no coincidence that the grand opening of this year’s radio cinema festival is set in a theatre. This year the festival focuses on the performative aspects of the listening experience and we have put together a very special program: You can experience the Canadian sound artist Kaitlin Prest’s performance with stories from a lamp in a bedroom. The british sound artist Duncan Speakman will make the audience interact with the sound, themselves and each other. This night we will also reveal the winner of Sound of the North, a new award by Københavns Radiobiograf celebrating the best audio stories of the year created by independent Nordic producers. And we will of course listen to the winner’s story together.

Hvordan forholder vi os egentlig til os selv og menneskene omkring os, når vi lytter? Og hvad ville din sengelampe vide om dig, hvis den kunne høre? Det er ikke tilfældigt, at åbningen af årets radiobiograffestival foregår i et teater. I år har festivalen nemlig fokus på de performative aspekter af lytteoplevelsen, og vi har skruet et helt særligt program sammen. Du kan opleve den canadiske lydkunstner Kaitlin Prests performance, der vil udfolde historier fra en lampe i et soveværelse. Komponisten og lydkunstneren Duncan Speakman vil sætte publikum i spil med lyden, sig selv og hinanden. Og som afslutning på aftenen afslører vi vinderen af Sound of the North, festivalens nye pris, der fejrer årets bedste fortællende lydproduktion skabt af uafhængige nordisk producenter. Vi vil naturligvis høre vinderfortællingen sammen denne aften.
