Statistikkerne taler deres eget grumme sprog: Sandsynligheden for at man som LGBTI+ person oplever stigmatisering, diskrimination og hadforbrydelser, kun fordi man er, som man er, er markant større, end det er tilfældet for ciskønnede heteroseksuelle personer, og er man en del af en eller flere køns- eller seksuelle minoriteter, har man desuden forhøjet risiko for at udvikle psykisk sygdom som depression og angst. I anledning af Halloween byder vi derfor indenfor i varmen til en eftermiddag med oplæsninger fra den mere uhyrlige del af LGBTI+ litteraturen. Det bliver skræmmende godt!
Hvad kan du forvente?
København: En eftermiddag i selskab med drag queens Ramona Macho, Chantal al Arab m.fl. både live i København og online fra Malmø. De iklæder sig deres mest forfærdelige halloween outfits og læser bl.a. højt på dansk af “En Rigtig Kærlighed” (2019) skrevet af danske Tomas Lagermand Lundme, og på engelsk af “Don’t Look Now” (1971), skrevet af britiske Daphne du Maurier. Her får du både historien om en altoverskyggende kærlighed mellem to mænd og et overfald, som ændrer alt mellem dem, og en klassisk gyserfortælling, som nok skal få det til at løbe dig koldt ned ad ryggen. Sprog: Dansk og engelsk.

Hvornår og hvor er det henne?
I København danner Holbergsalen i den historiske @Admiral Gjeddes Gaards Mødested i Store Kannikestræde 10A rammen for arrangementet, og i Malmø inviteres du indenfor i Röda Rummet på @Stadsbiblioteket i Malmö, Kung Oscars väg 11. Begge events begynder kl. 15.45.

The statistics speak for themselves: The likelihood of being stigmatised and the probability of experiencing discrimination and hate crimes only because of being who you are, increases significantly when you are an LGBTI+ person, and the risk of developing mental illnesses like depression and anxiety is higher if you belong to one or more gender and sexual minorities. In acknowledgment of these gruesome facts, we dare you to come and spend a horrifically cosy afternoon with us as we get acquainted with the more gloomy parts of Danish, Swedish, and international LGBTI+ literature. You better boo-lieve it will be gourd!
What to expect?
Copenhagen: An afternoon in the company of the drag queens Ramona Macho, Chantal al Arab, and Donna Belle both live in Copenhagen and online from Malmö. Dressed up in their most terrible Halloween outfits, they will be reading excerpts from “En Rigtig Kærlighed” (2019) by Danish author Tomas Lagermand Lundme (this reading will be in Danish), and “Don’t Look Now” (1971) by British author Daphne du Maurier (this reading will be in English). You will hear the story of an all-consuming love between two men and an assault that changes everything between them, and Maurier’s classic thriller that is bound to creep you out. Language: Danish and English.

In Copenhagen, the historic Admiral Gjeddes Gaard on Store Kannikestræde 10A provides the perfect location and atmosphere for the event. In Malmö, the event takes place in The Red Room at the Malmö City Library on Kung Oscars väg 11. Both events begin at 15.45.
