KITCHEN SINK REVOLUTION - med instruktørbesøg
Som optakt til Kvindernes Internationale Kampdage viser Nordatlantiske Filmdage 2018 en sprudlende dokumentar om islandsk kvindekamp. Instruktør Halla Kristín Einarsdóttir samtaler med filmkritiker Nanna Frank Rasmussen efter visningen.
I 1980 skabte Vigdís Finnbogadóttir internationale overskrifter som verdens første kvindelige folkevalgte præsident. I Island gik kvindekampen samtidig ind i ny fase, der var lige så omvæltende som 1970’ernes rødstrømpebevægelse. Ikke mindst da et kvindeparti stillede op til Altingsvalget og ikke bare rystede de etablerede partier og det politiske system, men også satte afgørende spor på samfundsudviklingen.
Sidste år gæstede instruktør Halla Kristín Eirksdóttir Nordatlantiske Filmdage med sin dokumentarfilm om 1970’ernes islandske rødstrømper. Nu vender hun tilbage med ny film, der ligesom i hendes forrige bruger interviews, arkivklip og farverig animation i dens lige så muntre som saglige, fascinerende og fortsat højaktuelle fortælling om 1980’ernes og 90’ernes kvindekamp.

Filmen varer 73 minutter og vises med engelske tekster samt efterfølgende instruktørsamtale. Arrangementet varer ca. 100 minutter og filmcaféen åbner 45 min. før visningen.

1.-8. marts præsenterer Nordatlantiske Filmdage unikke filmoplevelser fra Færøerne, Grønland og Island, tilsat oplæg, instruktørbesøg og debat. Det samlede program offentliggøres 1. februar på www.nordatlantens.dk/filmdage
