Med musikere fra bl.a. Gaye Su Akyols band, skaber Istanbul-baserede Lalalar retro-futuristiske møder mellem tyrkisk psych, elektronisk musik og anatolsk funk. Der er lagt stort op til årets sidste Global Dance Night! DJ Kaan Düzarat står bag pulten efter koncerten.
Der sker mange spændende tiltag på Istanbuls boblende alternative musikscene i disse år. Et af dem er det helt friske band Lalalar, der på under et år har charmet grundigt sig ind på tilhængere af tyrkisk psych og retro-klingende elektronisk musik. Med musikere fra den ikoniske sangerinde Gaye Su Akyols band, har Lalalars få livekoncerter og to singler allerede fået dem på årets program på den toneangivende hollandske festival Le Guess Who.
Lalalars lyd sender tankerne mod soundtracks til 80’ernes syrede kult-gyserfilm, med gruppens både fængende og flabede møder mellem nådesløse diskante retro-basgange, støvede elektroniske beats, dunkel reverb-vokal og nøje udvalgte samples fra anatolsk funk. Gruppens fremtids-nostalgiske elektroniske musik sender varmebølger igennem kroppen, og kan få selv de stiveste dansegulvs-fornægtere i omdrejninger.
Titlen på Lalalars debutsingle “İsyanlar” (Dunganga Records, 2019) kan oversættes til “oprør”, og det er mere eller mindre kernen i hvad man kan forvente af bandets live-optræden, når de fyrer op under årets sidste Global Dance Night til december.
Global Dance Nights er ALICEs nye klub, hvor du kan flytte dansefødderne til globalt orienteret musik. Til Global Dance Nights har vi udvalgt førsteklasses live-navne, der kan sætte gang i festen. Og der er altid DJs før og efter koncerten – og happy hour i baren den første time!

Fresh psychedelics from Istanbul! Lalalar is the type of band you want to move to with abandon. They simply offer you a future-nostalgia through some retro-cinematic bass lines, electro-dirty beats, rebroken vocals, self-flirting guitars and kindly digged out samples from the legacies of Anatolia. Their debut single “İsyanlar” can be arguably translated as “Rebellions”, and that’s more or less the gist of how this bunch operates on stage. On the last Global Dance Night of the year, Lalalar will make sure you move your feet.
