Den brasilianske queer rapper og aktivist Linn da Quebrada besøger Danmark for første gang med sin baile funk - den hårdtslående og polyrytmiske rap fra São Paulo. Med den vil hun smadre patriarkatet. Koncerten præsenteres i samarbejde med CPH PIX.

Siden den brasilianske rapper og queer-idolet, Linn da Quebrada, udgav sin crowdfunded debut, “Pajubá”, sidste oktober, er det gået enormt hurtigt for den enestående kunstner og musiker. Med mere end 100.000 følgere og en dokumentar om hendes liv er Linn da Quebrada mere end klar til sin første turné uden for Brasilien. Dokumentaren, “Bixa Travesty”, havde verdenspremiere på årets Berlinale, hvor den vandt en Teddy Award og nu kan Linn da Quebrada heldigvis opleves live på ALICE.
Som man kan se i “Bixa Travesty”, så er Linns liv i São Paulo prekært. Ikke kun i Brasilien, men i hele verden, er overgreb og vold langt, langt højere mod transpersoner end mod cis-personer. “Bixa Travesty” handler om det, om at være transperson, der som Linn ikke identificerer sig som cis-kvinde, “men som en kvinde med en penis,” som hun siger i film. Det er det hendes musik handler om. Om skrøbelighed, men også om den styrke Linn finder i sit community og om den empowering hun finder gennem brugen af sin egen stemme.
Linn tager musikalsk udgangspunkt i baile funk, der også bliver kaldt for favela funk eller oftes bare “funk”, der ikke har meget med nordamerikansk funk at gøre. Baile funk lægger sig op ad 90ernes hardcore rap og dens hårdtslående beats og tekster, der handler om livet i favela’en. Men Linn leverer sit helt eget take på genren med radikale queer tekster og et både visuelt og musikalsk univers, der er mere flydende.
Linn da Quebrada musik er favela funk, det er trap, og det er grime tilsat brasilianske poly-rytmer og politiske tekster.
