Afenginn har, siden de i 2002 på kom frem som et frækt og uregerligt barn, opbygget et ry som et virtuost og fremragende liveband med hundredevis af koncerter over hele verden på samvittigheden. Herhjemme har Afenginn modtaget et utal priser og udmærkelser, bl.a 8 Danish Music Awards, Carl Prisen, DMAs Live-pris, Kunstrådets Ung Elite Satsning med flere.
Med et instrumentarium bestående af klarinet, violin, mandolin, cello/bas, piano og trommer har de på én gang et intenst og tilbagelænet sammenspil præget af stor spilleglæde og virtuositet.
Afenginns originale og grænseløse musik udspiller sig i et særegent musikalsk univers, der byder på alt fra hæsblæsende rytmer i alle tænkelige taktarter, stille og meditative øjeblikke og virtuost, nærmest psykedelisk sammenspil. De nærmest klassiske tonelandskaber væver sig sammen med etniske inspirationer og kontrasteres af højenergiske passager, der bæres frem af rå følelser, og formår at skabe musik der kombinerer enkle melodiske motiver med komplekse, matematiske strukturer.
Afenginn har gennem karrieren spilllet på de mest forskelligartede scener – alt fra Bellevue Sommerballet og Roskilde Festival til SXSW i USA og en fiskekutter på Færøerne. Både deres albums og koncerter har modtaget massive anmelderroser. Således fik en koncert på Nørre Allé tilbage i 2014 GAFFAs anmelder til at tildele fuld plade og kalde koncerten “en mageløs oplevelse”. Vi har glædet os til at opleve dem igen, og de skulle netop have indtaget ALICE i forbindelse med Vinterjazz i starten af året. Nu kan vi heldigvis byde på efterårskoncert i Musikhuset København – og mon ikke der er lagt op til en mageløs oplevelse igen.

Widely regarded as one of Denmark’s greatest live bands, Afenginn started out with a sound fusing Nordic folk music with elements of klezmer and Balkan sounds. Since then band leader Kim Nyberg has taken the band on a bold journey to explore a much more cinematic and richly orchestrated sound and has turned Afenginn into one of the most adventurous groups in Denmark – a powerful unit that explores a universe between neo-folk, chamber music and prog rock.
Afenginn have performed in many areas of the world and have released seven acclaimed albums. They were set to perform at Vinterjazz in the beginning of 2021. Sadly that concert had to be cancelled - but now we’re thrilled to bring them to Musikhuset København for an autumn show.

Opened on the 1st of February 2018, ALICE is Copenhagen’s powerhouse for adventurous music. ALICE is presenting a bold and high quality program of global roots, jazz/improv, electronic music, sonic experiments and much more, shedding light on musical roots and legendary artists as well as exciting new breakthroughs from all over the world.

The first thing to do is check your spam/junk filters and inboxes. Your tickets were sent as an attachment and can be thought of as spam by some email services.
