NATUREN OG KUNSTEN
Birta Guðjónsdóttir, som var kurator på udstillingen med Hrafnhildur Arnardóttir / Shoplifter i den islandske pavillon på Venedig Biennalen i 2019 fortæller om nervebaner, landskaber og mentale landskaber (Nervescapes, Landscapes and Otherscapes) i den islandske kunstners værker.
Titlen på Shoplifters udstilling Nervscape IX stammer delvis fra hendes betragtninger over vores neurologiske stier som et indre landskab, og over forbindelsen mellem vores indre kropslige landskab og de ydre omgivelser, som former os. Hendes stort skalerede, omfavnende installationer forvirrer vores fornemmelse af den menneskelige fysiske skala, de bliver otherscapes. Vi bliver påmindet om vores egne primale instinkter, bevægelser og ukendte lydbilleder under vores hud, den konstante dialog mellem krop og hjerne, det farvede mørke og vibrationerne inderst inde.
Foredraget kommer ind på, hvordan Shoplifters behårede installationer har et stærkt nærvær og beder om at blive berørt, som en spejling af vores konstante drift efter at vende tilbage til naturen. Gennem at skabe analoge virtuelle virkeligheder, en overdrevet hypernatur, fejrer hendes installationer også kunstens gennem alle tider besættelse efter at imitere naturen.
Guðjónsdóttir vil fokusere på den islandske natur og på landets kendte musik-scene, som de reflekteres i Shoplifters kunst, og på hvordan både natur og musik har formet hendes kunstneriske vision og metode.
Birta Guðjónsdóttir
Birta Guðjónsdóttir, født 1977, er en islandsk kurator og kunstner. Hun var kurator på den islandske pavillon på Venedig biennalen i 2019, hvor Shoplifter viste udstillingen Chromo Sapiens. I 2020 var hun kunstnerisk leder af kunstfestivalen Art without Borders i Island.
Foredraget er på engelsk og varer en time, inkl. spørgsmål fra salen.
Salen åbner 45 minutter før arrangementet starter.
