Paul Banks & Jørgen Lang har spillet sammen siden midten af 1970’erne - først som duo og siden med Martin Andersen og Hugo Rasmussen som Musikorkestret. I ’80erne var Musikorkestret landets måske det mest travle orkester med ca. 250 koncerter årligt på spillesteder og festivals over hele Skandinavien.
Siden har de hver især spillet i mange forskellige sammenhænge – Paul hovedsageligt som solist, Martin med Benny Holst Trio og Jørgen med Delta Blues Band. Men de har stadig holdt sammen – efter Hugo Rasmussens død som trio – og duo.
Både Paul og Jørgen er kendt som virtuose og toneangivende musikere. Sammen og hver for sig har de haft stor indflydelse på flere generationer danske folk og bluesmusikere. Deres duokoncerter byder på tæt, storswingende og lyrisk musik, spillet med en indforståethed som kun findes hos musikere, som har kendt hinanden i over 40 år!
Paul Banks kan som få illudere et helt orkester alene med sin guitar og stemme. Hans stil har rødder i folk, blues og ragtime, men blander desuden elementer fra jazz, R&B og gospel i et personligt univers præget af unik guitarspil, gode melodier og velskrevne tekster.
Seneste soloudgivelse er den stemningsmættede BLACKBERRY WINE, som udover flotte anmeldelser var pladen nomineret til både en Carl Pris og DMA Blues.
