Richard Anderssons dansk-islandske trio NOR er en stærkt sammenspillet størrelse, som har berørt lyttere i ind- og udland med et klart og følsomt udtryk præget af en nordisk tone.
Efter 4 år og mere end 70 koncerter udkom trioens debutalbum i 2017, som bl.a. blev anmeldt i Berlingske Tidende og Jazznytt (Norge) og blev fulgt op af koncerter på Copenhagen Jazzfestival samt turneer i både Island og Danmark.
Trioen blev dannet da den talentfulde danske bassist Richard Andersson i 2013 flyttede til Island draget af den islandske kultur og, -ikke mindst -, den islandske musikscene. Det blev til to fantastiske år i Reykjavik, hvor Richard hurtigt fik foden indenfor i det sprudlende islandske musikmiljø. Her træf han to af de mest opsigtsvækkende islandske musikere, nemlig trommeslager Matthias Hemstock og saxofonist Oskar Gudjonsson. "Richard Andersson NOR" var hermed grundlagt.
Richard Andersson NOR spiller kompositioner af Andersson og Gudjonsson, og præsenterer dermed en musikalsk symbiose mellem de to landes kulturer blandet med amerikansk moderne jazz.
Trioens andet album er sat til at udkomme til efteråret 2018.
