Det er Kvindernes Internationale Kampdag, og derfor sætter vi fokus på kvinder og fodbold. Forestillingen byder på film om kvindefodbold i Sverige og Tyskland. Filmene bliver indledt med en snak mellem den tidligere VM-vinder Susanne Augustesen og Nina Frausing, som har en fortid i svensk fodbold.

Svenske FC Rosengård er en af verdens største klubber inden for kvindefodbold. Men det betyder ikke, at alt er let. I sær ikke, når kvinderne kun får 0,2 % af de samlede indtægter fra mændenes og kvindernes Champions League. I et dramatisk år for klubben med både store triumfer og nederlag følger vi klubdirektør Klas Tjebbes, den nye sportschef Therese Sjögran og superstjernen Marta og får et unikt indblik i kvindefodboldens kamp for succes og anerkendelse i en pengestyret og mandsdomineret fodboldverden.

Pioneren Anne Trabant, landsholdsspiller Dzenifer Marozsán og U17 Europamester Melissa Kössler fortæller om deres forhold til fodbolden, der helt frem til 1970 var forbudt for kvinder.
