SOVIET BARBARA
I
december 2021 åbnede den islandske og internationalt berømmede kunstner
Ragnar Kjartansson en udstilling i Moskva, hvor han iscenesatte den
amerikanske soap-opera ”Santa Barbara”. Tv-serien havde russisk
tv-premiere i 1992, blot en uge efter kommunismens fald, og den blev en
gigantisk succes.
Ragnar Kjartansons iscenesættelse og dens kritiske blik på post-sovjetten udspillede sig imidlertid i tiden optil Putins invasion af Ukraine – og pludselig stod kunstneren i en både uventet og ubehagelig situation. Instruktør Gaukur Úlfarsson fulgte Kjartansson gennem hele processen og resultatet er en medrivende dokumentarfilm, der både skildrer de dramatisk begivenheder og portrætter en enestående kunstner.
Dokumentarfilmen "Soviet Barbara – the Story of Ragnar Kjartansson in Moscow" vises med kort introduktion ved filmdagenes Birgir Thor Møller.

varer ca. 105 minutter. Filmsalen og dens café åbner 45 min. før
