SuperJazzDay under the VinterJazz festival will be a firework of musical forms and colors. Three bands from the Copenhagen Jazz-scene with a very international character have united their energies to celebrate this unique day. Come by and hop onto a Jazz journey throughout several cultures and musical genres. Not only for Jazz-nerds, also well suited for all kind of music-lovers - we promise!

Klanglys + Sebastian Zawadzki

All members of Klanglys make use of their love for jazz harmonies, rhythmic ostinato figures and natural soundscapes to create pleasant and light projecting melodies. The band utilizes a wide array of musical colors with references to a vast span of cultural backgrounds - namely those of the individual members of the group, which is mostly Western European, but with clear trails over the entire continent. The lyrically based tunes create a counterpoint to the abundant arrangements with stylistic plurality. The instrumental competence of the players creates a feeling for the listener of being drawn towards the intersections between timbre and light in the musical space. Klanglys will take you on a cinematic journey and guides you through festive and lively and also dreamful scenes.

Brazilian Jazz Trio - Sá Reston, Jan Kadereit, Antti Lähdesmäki

This trio's music is joyous, a celebration of Jazz, Brazilian music, composer Hermeto Pascoal and countless other influences. They use their talent and skill to bounce melodies between them, freely play around with all compositions and always find new little ideas like jewels in rhythm, melody, harmony and sound. A truly fun and impressive experience to see this international trio live! Sá Reston is a brazilian bass player, composer, arranger and educator. He has devoted his craft and art to brazilian music (and it's varied styles) and to "Música Universal", the aesthetic created by brazilian genius Hermeto Pascoal and carried along by Sá's mentor, Itiberê Zwarg. He plays together with pianist Antti Lähdesmäki since 2019, when they toured Brazil. A little bit later drummer Jan Kadereit joined, forming a new trio of extraordinary musicians.

Tympanic attack

Tympanic attack creates a unique listener experience with their own take on modern jazz. Each of the band members has brought their own compositions, which has been interpreted in this new ensemble.
