THE DEPOSIT / TRYGGÐ
Journalisten Gisella er i økonomisk knibe. Alligevel kvitter hun sit job i sensationspressen og påtager sig i stedet at skrive om uhumske boligforhold blandt Reykjaviks immigranter. Af pengemangel, forklædt som idealisme, udlejer hun samtidig to værelser til et par indvandrerkvinder, hvoraf den ene har en datter.
Umiddelbart er bofælleskabet til gavn for alle. Men det nye hverdagsliv byder også på udfordringer og Gisella føler sig mere og mere presset. Ásthildur Kjartansdóttir film er baseret på Auður Jónsdóttirs roman Depositum og giver et skarpt og tankevækkende portræt af kulturmøder og magtforhold i et fælleskab, hvor nogle er mere lige and andre.

Filmen varer 89 minutter. Arrangementet inkluderer instruktør-samtale og varer 115 min. Der er unummererede pladser. Filmsalen og dens café åbner 45 minutter før visningen.
