Reunion i Ebeltoft: Mange anser Thomas Clausen Brazilian Quartet som en milepæl i dansk jazzhistorie, og endnu flere oplevede den eksotiske kvartet inden den blev opløst for år tilbage. Men nu samler Thomas Clausen igen verdensnavne for at lade den brasiliansk inspirerede jazz strømme ud til publikum.

TC’s brasilianske projekt er med tiden blevet til en række forskellige formationer, som ud over musikere fra Danmark, både rummer musikere og sangere fra Sao Paolo og Rio i Brasilien, og San Francisco, USA.
Her er nu en gendannelse af den oprindelige besætning, som stammer helt tilbage fra 1997. Dog med to fornemme nye medlemmer: på bas den virtuose Thomas Fonnesbæk, som er fast medlem af TC’s jazztrio (CD: ”Back To Basics” og ”Sol” - og af TC SXTET (CD: ”Spanish Blue”). OG – som noget helt nyt – samarbejdet med den italienske klarinet-virtuos Nico Gori, som er ved at slå sig ned i DK. Stadig ved trommerne Afonso Correa, som altid elegant, tight, groovy, somme tider FUNKY!
Musikken er stadig overvejende musik af TC, krydret med hans bearbejdelser af brasilianske populærmelodier, en uudtømmelig sangskat fra navne som Tom Jobim & Elis Regina.
TC's kompositioner og sange tar afsæt i de typiske brasilianske genrer og rytmer: samba, bossanova, choro, baiao osv
TC Brazilian Quartet har indspillet 3 Cder for STUNT Records:
”Follow the Moon” (1998)
“Prelude to a Kiss” (2000)
“Balacobaco” (2003) , with friends: Mikkel Nordsø & Madame Claude Harptrio
Alle tre Cder er blevet meget rost af en enig presse. Specielt blev ”Balacobaco” fremhævet som et mesterværk – med 6 Stjerner i Politiken og 6 djember i verdensmusikbladet ”Djembe”.
