Glyptoteket inviterer til yoga i museets smukke Festsal. I anledning af særudstillingen Amarna – Solgudens by sender vi solen en kærlig tanke i et særligt tilrettelagt yogaprogram, hvor vi går i dybden med yogaens nok mest kendte sekvens: Solhilsnen.

Selvom der er langt fra oldtidens Ægypten til Indiens yoga, så har solen på tværs af tider, kulturer og landegrænser altid haft en afgørende og livgivende betydning.

Vi tager os tid til at gennemgå alle Solhilsnens stillinger og overgange i et blidt tempo, mens vi nørder yogateknik. Sammen arbejder vi os hen imod at lave hele sekvensen i flow, og vi undersøger, hvad en solhilsen også kan indeholde, før tempoet sættes ned, og vi hengiver os til den afsluttende afspænding i Savasana.

Entrebilletten giver adgang til Glyptoteket hele dagen, hvor du kan nyde roen og gå på opdagelse i særudstillinger og samlinger fulde af smukke kroppe.

OM AMARNA – SOLGUDENS BY
Året er 1350 før vores tidsregning. Vi befinder os i oldtidens Ægypten, hvor magi og dyreguder spiller en afgørende rolle i samfundet. Da Farao Akhenaten overtager magten, gør han op med de gamle guder og dikterer en ny religion. Solguden Aten skal nu være den eneste tilladte gud. Den nye gudedyrkelse fører en større samfundsomvæltning med sig, og regentparret vælger at flytte og anlægge en ny residens, en storslået ny by, der i dag kendes som Amarna. FOR HVEM OG HVORDAN
Yoga på Glyptoteket er for alle, der har lyst til at fordybe sig og forbinde kroppen med åndedrættet. Alle kan være med – nybegynder som øvet. Der er yogamåtter til låns på museet, så alt du skal gøre er at møde op i behageligt tøj, du kan bevæge dig i.

OM UNDERVISEREN
Underviser Joséphine Renard har praktiseret yoga i tyve år og har undervist siden 2014. Hendes filosofi er, at yoga er for alle – også dig, der ikke kan nå dine tæer, har skader eller ekstra kilo på sidebenene. Hun arbejder med skabe plads til at være i kroppen, samt at sanse kroppen gennem bevægelse og vejrtrækning. Du kan læse mere om Joséphine på www.renard.nu/yoga.

Kom i god tid, så du kan nå at låse dine ejendele inde i garderoben. Vær opmærksom på, at det ikke er tilladt at medbringe egen yogamåtte, og at der ikke er omklædningsfaciliteter på museet.

Yoga at The Glyptotek. Saluting the Sun

Come to yoga in The Glyptotek’s beautiful Central Hall. We mark the special exhibition Amarna – City of the Sun God by sending love to the sun in a specifically designed yoga program, where we focus on one of the most famous yoga sequences: The Sun Salutation.

Ancient Egypt and Indian yoga might seem far apart, but across all times, borders, and cultures the sun has played an essential and vitalizing role.

In this session we will gently go through all positions and transitions of the Sun Salutation, while we delve into the techniques and the sequence as a whole. Together we will work towards making the whole sequence in flow and explore what a Sun Salutation can also contain. Finally, we slow down and end with relaxation in Savasana.

Your ticket includes free admission to the Glyptotek all day, so you can enjoy the museum’s atmosphere and explore the collections and special exhibition.

ABOUT ‘AMARNA – CITY OF THE SUN GOD’
The year is 1350 BCE. We are in ancient Egypt, where magic and animal deities play a crucial role in society. When the Pharaoh Akhenaten comes to power, he abolishes the ancient animal deities and ordains a new religion. Now, it is permitted only to worship the sun god, Aten. The new cult leads to major social upheaval, and the royal couple decides to move and build a new place of residence: a magnificent new city, known today as Amarna.

WHO AND HOW
Yoga at the Glyptotek is for anyone who wants to connect their body with their breath and shed positive light on body and mind. The session is open to both beginners and people who already have experience with yoga. You can borrow a yoga mat at the museum, so just turn up in comfortable clothes suitable for moving around.

ABOUT THE TEACHER
The yoga teacher, Joséphine Renard has been practicing yoga for 20 years and has been teaching since 2014. Her philosophy is that yoga is for everyone – even people who cannot touch their toes, who have injuries or who might carry a few extra kilos. Arrive well in advance so you have time to lock your belongings in a locker in the cloakroom. Please note that you may not bring your own yoga mat, and that there are no changing facilities at the museum.
