Guitarist og sangskriver Greg Mackintosh er først og fremmest kendt som grundlægger af det engelske doom/goth band Paradise Lost, men efter sin fars død i 2009, dannede Mackintosh dødsmetalbandet Vallenfyre. Det oprindelige formål med Vallenfyre-projektet var at finde en måde at håndtere sin fars død på, men det har sidenhen udviklet sig til et mere ambitiøst dødsmetalband med flere album i rygsækken.
Vallenfyre er lige nu aktuelle med deres tredje album 'Fear Those Who Fear Him', der er indspillet og produceret af Kurt Ballou(Converge, Black Breath, Nails) og byder på knusende hård death metal med stærke inspirationer fra gamle kendinge som Hellhammer, Celtic Frost, tidlig Bathory og Nihilist. I forlængelse af den nye anmelderroste fuldlængde, begiver bandet sig til efterår på en mindre Europa tour, der tromler over Bombehuset d. 20. september.
